R-2 School Medication and Fever Policies

Prescription Medication

All prescription medication MUST be brought in the ORIGINAL CONTAINER (You can request a duplicate labeled bottle from the pharmacy) If the medication is to be taken for several days (i.e.. antibiotics) only that amount is to be left at school.

Non-Prescription Medication

All Non-Prescription medication (i.e. Tylenol, Advil, Cold or Allergy medications, etc...) MUST also be brought in the original container (bottle/box). This is to be brought to the Nurse's Office immediately upon arrival to school. If a student is found in possession of medications, disciplinary actions will be taken.

ALL MEDICATIONS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SIGNED NOTE FROM THE PARENTS.

This note must include the following: 

  • The name of the student taking the medication, 
  • the time it is to be taken 
  • and why it is needed (strep, infection etc...)

ANY MEDICATION BROUGHT IN NON-ORIGINAL CONTAINERS (BAGGIE, ENVELOPE ETC...) OR WITHOUT A NOTE,  WILL NOT BE GIVEN

Fever Policy

Any child who has a temperature of 100° F or above will automatically be sent home. The parent or guardian, or the person indicated to contact in case of an emergency, will be notified so arrangements can be made to pick up the child.
